Philosophy
The Dowell Library Learning Commons has a philosophy of flexible learning. Our space, schedule and activities all show elements of this philosophy. The Library Learning Commons is centered around the students of Dowell and their needs. Sometimes flexible learning can be loud and full of movement, sometimes it is a teacher reading quietly with one or two students. Most of the time it is both of these and all different things in between all happening at once. Students are taught and encouraged to work collaboratively using technology. This skill that gets stronger each year as students continue to use the Learning Commons. Lessons are designed and implemented to use the multiple tools they have access to with all the students at Dowell.
